Perfect Marinated Ribeyes

Ingredients

  • 2 prime ribeyes
  • 2.5 cups light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cups white vinegar
  • 1.25 cups soy sauce
  • 10 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1-1.5 tsp ground pepper

Method

Marinating the Ribeyes in a Bag

  1. put ribeyes into a Ziplock bag and add light brown sugar, white vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and ground pepper
  2. seal the bag, squeezing out as much air as possible, and carefully mix everything up
  3. put in fridge for 5-6 hours or overnight. flip the bag every 1 or 2 hours if you want to cover the ribeyes really well with the marinade
  4. take the bag out of the fridge and let it sit for 30-40 minutes before grilling

Grilling the meat

  1. take meat out of bag and put on a platter, keeping the marinade for later
  2. grill meat at 450°F to 475°F and close the grill lid
  3. cook for 6 minutes, flip over each ribeye and put in more marinade, then cook for 6 more minutes
  4. cook until internal temperature of meat is 125°F to 127°F throughout
  5. let meat rest for 5 minutes before you enjoy!
