Crab Rangoon and Cannoli Wontons

Crab Rangoon

Ingredients

  • 5-8 oz. crab meat
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Wonton wrappers
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 green onion, sliced finely
  • water
  • oil
  • *optional: sriracha sauce
  • *optional: honey

Method

  1. put cream cheese in a bowl and add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and garlic powder
  2. add the sliced green onion and crab, then mix
  3. dip you finger in some water and do each edge of the Wontons
  4. add about 2 tsp off the filling onto the wonton
  5. squeeze the opposite corners of the wrapper together, then crimp them
  6. bring the two other sides of the wonton in, then crimp each edge
  7. repeat steps 4-6 for each wonton
  8. heat some oil to 350°F in a sauce pan
  9. fry the wontons for about 2-3 minutes, or until the wonton wrapper turns crispy and golden brown
  10. * optional: make a sauce by adding 1/4 sriracha sauce and 3/4 honey
  11. serve the crab Rangoon on a plate with some sauce if you desire. Enjoy!

Cannoli Wontons

Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup – 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • about 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • water
  • oil

Method

  1. strain/dry the Ricotta cheese in a bowl
  2. add cream cheese and vanilla, then mix everything well with an electric mixer
  3. add the powder sugar and mix again
  4. add the chocolate chips to the mixture
  5. refrigerate for 3-24 hours
  6. take the mixture out of the fridge and make sure it’s nice and firm
  7. dip your finger into water and wipe the water along the edges of each wonton
  8. put some filling on a wonton
  9. pinch the diagonals together, then pull the opposite ends together
  10. pinch the top and all the edges to keep everything together
  11. repeat steps 8-10 for each wonton
  12. boil some water in a pan and place a metal bowl on top of the pan
  13. melt the chocolate in the metal bowl
  14. pour the chocolate into a small bowl and set aside
  15. heat some oil in a sauce pan to 350°F
  16. fry the wontons for 2-3 minutes or until crispy and golden brown
  17. dry the wontons on a paper towel
  18. serve the wontons on a plate, drizzle melted chocolate on them, and sprinkle on some powdered sugar before you enjoy!
