Mongolian Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. chicken thighs, chopped into bite sized-pieces
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 ginger slivers
  • 1 red chili, sliced
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 3-4 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • rice

Method

  1. put water, brown sugar, 1 tsp cornstarch, soy sauce, and Hoisin sauce into a bowl and mix
  2. put chicken in a bowl and add 1/2 cup of corn starch, then mix with your hands
  3. put vegetable oil onto a pan and heat it up
  4. cook chicken for 6-8 minutes
  5. take out the chicken and strain it
  6. put the chopped ends of the green onions, the red chili slices, and the sticks of ginger into the pan
  7. cook and mix for 20-30 seconds, add garlic, then cook and mix for another 20 seconds
  8. add the sauce into the pan and stir and cook it until nice and thick
  9. add the chicken to the sauce and mix
  10. add sesame oil and mix and cook some more
  11. turn off the heat before you put the chopped green onions in
  12. stir it around one more time, then serve the chicken on some rice before you enjoy!
